Aero Bot Inventors
Experience the World of Robotic Vehicles!
Entering Grades K-5
Full Day Only
December 26-27, 2013
Explore the exciting world of autonomous flight and aerospace design! Campers in this two-day program investigate the basics of autonomous vehicles and the engineering design cycle while building and programming robots, piloting remote control aircraft, launching sophisticated flight simulation missions and more!
Aero Bot Inventors uses LEGO WeDo robotics to design, program and operate a series of increasingly sophisticated autonomous devices able to sense and respond to their surroundings. High fidelity flight simulation missions include programming and use of the aircraft autopilot and flight at extreme high and low altitudes typical of remotely piloted aircraft operations.
Each camper flies and takes home a remote control “UFO”-style helicopter to explore the challenges of unmanned aircraft operations. Experimentation with simple machines and electric circuits provides the technology needed to construct a walking robot able to cross a table top and to master the forces of flight in an adventure to the frontiers of aerospace.
