Flight Science Lab
Explore the Science of Flight!
Entering Grades K-6
Investigate the science of flight with hands-on experiments, model aircraft construction and realistic flight simulation in an exciting week-long adventure. Explore Earth’s atmosphere and how it affects aviation, ranging from frigid polar weather to volcanic eruptions. Launch flight simulations to some of the most remote places in the world, from the mountains of Alaska to amphibious landings on distant seas. Build and fly model gliders, helicopters and aerobatic aircraft and discover how each works.
Take wing on the wild side, observing the flight and other behaviors of the amazing trained parrots from Happy Birds and learning to identify common local birds in flight. Construct an air pressure hovercraft, master circuit electricity to build a working flashlight, create synthetic snow and more in an amazing science-themed adventure in flight.
