Aviation Camp
Camp Starhawk

Advanced Rocketry and Space Science

Entering Grades 5-8
Full Day Only - Includes Field Trip

Reach for the stars with the highest-flying Aviation Camp of all! Build a large, highly detailed flying model of NASA's future launch vehicle. Prepare the rocket for flight with a solid-fuel rocket motor and join the launch day field trip to blast each rocket skyward to altitudes approaching 300'. Board the aircraft carrier USS Hornet for a behind-the-scenes look at the recovery ship used for the first astronauts to walk upon the Moon.

Assemble, check out and take home a high-quality 3" reflecting telescope with Dobsonian mount suitable for basic astronomical observations. Enter the Starlab planetarium to identify star patterns and planets visible for observation. Analyze real Mars images collected by orbiting spacecraft, fly high performance aircraft in the flight simulators and much more in a journey to infinity and beyond!
