Seasonal Full/Part Time
June - September 2015
Join us to work with kids and aircraft at the Hiller Aviation Museum!
Aviation Camp instructors teach hands-on science- and flight-themed lessons to students Grades K-8 while working behind-the-scenes at a unique Museum located at one of California's busiest small airports. Activities include building and flying various model aircraft, completing realistic flight simulations, working inside the cockpits of historic aircraft, building and programming small robots, using computer aided design and 3D printers and more.
Instructors must have experience working with elementary or middle-school children and good classroom management skills. Familiarity with aviation is a plus but not essential—good teachers comfortable teaching elementary science can readily learn the aerospace-specific content with the provided curriculum and training. Aviation Camp instructional positions vary with enrollment but are usually 8 AM - 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. New staff members must attend training May 29-30 at the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos. Limited makeup training opportunities may be available for exceptional candidates.
Instructor positions pay $14.50-$16.50/hr depending on experience. Aviation Camp runs June 1st through September 4th. Applicants seeking full summer employment must be available at least nine weeks June 8th-August 28th. A limited number of applicants will be considered for positions to run a four-week period July 27th-August 21st.
To apply, submit a resume and cover letter in PDF format to firstname.lastname@example.org. Include "Aviation Camp Instructor" in the subject line. Finalists for summer instructor positions will be required to present a demonstration lesson at the Museum during Spring 2015 as part of their application process.
More information is available on the Museum's Aviation Camp web pages. Apply today for a summer job you'll never forget!
