Join us to work with kids and aircraft this summer at the Hiller Aviation Museum! Our Aviation Camp staff helps elementary and middle-school campers to build and fly model aircraft, launch rockets, complete flight simulation missions, conduct flight-related science experiments and more while working behind-the-scenes at a unique Museum located at one of California’s busiest small airports.
Camp Instructors are responsible for preparing and presenting aviation-themed, science-oriented hands-on curriculum to campers. Instructors supervise campers during lesson time as well as sign-in, sign-out and camper break periods.
Instructors must have experience working with elementary or middle-school children and good classroom management skills. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with hands-on science teaching experience. Knowledge in the aviation field is preferred but not required. Instructors must be available to work at least 8 weeks of Aviation Camp (see the Aviation Camp Schedule. Availability for all 14 weeks is ideal but not required.
Instructor pay range is $14 to $18/hr depending on experience. Hours will vary due to camp enrollment but are expected to be 40 hr/wk, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday during most camp weeks. Training will be held at the Museum on Friday, May 30th, 5 pm — 8 pm and on Saturday, May 31st, 9 am — 5 pm. Camp begins on June 2nd, opening to full enrollment June 16th.
