A gala evening with Burt Rutan, inventor of SpaceShipOne,
to Benefit the Hiller Aviation Museum at the Hiller Aviation
Institute and Museum in San Carlos
 

Join us for fine food and drink and the opportunity to hear Burt Rutan,
founder of Scaled Composites, LLC, and developer of SpaceShipOne,
the recent winner of the Ansari X-Prize and Collier Trophy. On October 4,
2004, SpaceShipOne rocketed into history as the first private manned
spacecraft to exceed an altitude of 328,000 feet twice within the span of a
14 day period, thus claiming the $10 million X-Prize and heralding the
beginning of civilian space travel.

This extraordinary evening will include:
- Opportunity to meet Burt Rutan and other members of his team
- Costumes spanning the past and future of aviation, from
  barnstorming to space flight
- World premier of a new flute quartet piece by Polly Moller
  "Remove Before Flight"
- Gourmet dinner
- Auction of a variety of aviation-related items and experiences,
  including one-of-a-kind plane rides in historic
  aircraft, both luxurious and aerobatic, items
  that have been to space, and much more
- Mingle with other aviation industry leaders

Cost: Tables - $3,000 (10 places); Individuals - $350

The Hiller Aviation Museum and Institute, “where
aviation takes flight,” is a valuable collection of
historical aircraft and aviation related artifacts.
The Museum offers a number of programs
designed to inspire and educate both children and
adults about the technology & science of aviation.
