Flight Simulation Air Rally
Concluded!
We recently concluded our first competitive flight simulation Air Rally, which took place over the last several months. However, we are planning to host another Air Rally within the next few months, so please continue to check back here for information. If you're interested to find out more about the Air Rally we just completed, visit the Museum's Air Rally pages.
Air Rally Workshop
March 9th, April 6th
2:00 PM-3:15 PM
Join a special 75-minute training session to hone your skills for the Flight Simulation Air Rally! Participants in each Air Rally Workshop will work under the direction of a certificated pilot and flight simulation instructor on the following exercises in a simulated Cessna 172 Skyhawk:
- Takeoff/climb
- Cruise flight/slow flight
- Medium bank turns
- Approach/landing
- Programming GPS flight plans
- Following GPS flight plans
Each flight simulator pilot will also have the opportunity to fly the Air Rally mission under practice conditions. Participation in an Air Rally Workshop is not required in order to compete in the Air Rally itself. All flight simulator pilots competing in the Rally must complete the separate registration form and fly the Rally mission during regular Flight Sim Zone hours, as per the competition rules.
A program fee of $15/person ($10/Members) is required and advanced registration is strongly recommended as space is limited. Download our Registration Form to sign up by fax, mail or in person.
