Jeffery Bass, President and CEO –
Jeff joined the museum in 2007 with over 20 years of science museum experience in exhibit and program design, planetarium show production, museum operations management and direction of a dome IMAX theater. Previous employers include Cranbrook Institute of Science in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and Milwaukee Public Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Knowledgeable in physics and astronomy, Jeff is also a private pilot.
Willie Turner, VP of Operations –
Mr. Turner joined the Hiller Aviation Institute & Museum in October 1995. He manages the overall marketing department and creates the promotional events supporting the organizations overall mission. He has successfully developed, the Museum’s
premier events including Vertical Challenge,
Young Eagles and the lecture series.
Bernadette “Bernie” Mellott,
MPA , VP
of Development –
Bernadette joined the museum in 2006 and has
more than 20 years of experience managing development
departments and capital campaigns at nonprofit agencies.
Bernadette oversees the development department, where
she manages the major gifts program, special events,
creative services and the fundraising programs. Bernadette
was previously the Vice President of Development
for the Human Society of Silicon Valley and the Associate
Vice President for the Notre Dame de Namur University
in Belmont, CA.
Jon Welte – Education Programs Manager –
The Hiller Aviation Museum welcomed Jon Welte aboard in June 2007. Jon is responsible for the development and implementation of Aviation Camp, school field trip programs, and other Museum-related experiences for children.
Jon was captivated by aviation and science at a young age. He logged his first hour of dual instruction at age thirteen and received his first telescope that same year. Jon ultimately secured his bachelor’s degree in Astronomy from UC Berkeley and holds a Private Pilot Certificate.
North E. West – Director of Volunteers
and Exhibits –
Mr. West joined the Hiller Aviation Institute & Museum
in 1998. His responsibilities include recruitment,
training, and management of the docent corps
comprised of more than 100 community volunteers.
He also oversees exhibits and the mechanical
operations.
Lanie Agulay – Private Events
Manager –
Ms. Agulay joined the Hiller Aviation Institute & Museum
in 2004. She plans and manages all aspects of
daytime and evening private events from large
scale to small meetings and functions. She also
coordinates vendors, onsite resource and event
logistics for private events held at the Museum.
Duncan Chadwick – Director of
Merchandising and Retail Operations –
Mr. Chadwick joined the Hiller Aviation
Institute & Museum in 1998. He has many years of retail experience both in the UK and the United States. He created the Hiller Aviation’s
retail store and he is responsible for the management
of all retail merchandising and retail staff.
