Seaplane Design Challenge
Saturday, May 11, 2013
10 am - 5 pm
Advance Registration Required
On Saturday, May 11th, students Grades 5 and up from around the Bay Area will descend on the Museum to participate in a special Seaplane Design Challenge. Developed in collaboration with Invention X, this special three-hour program engages students with a series of Museum-based, seaplane-themed inspiration experiences, then launches them into the invention design process to design, test and present an innovative prototype for a new technology to support a seagoing aircraft.
Raffle prizes totaling up to $300 will be given away on May 11th. Each student who finishes the workshop will be entered into the raffle, and extra raffle tickets can be earned by sharing this event on your own or on a friend’s Facebook wall. Click here to learn how to earn more raffle tickets.
There is no charge for participating children and adults, but space is strictly limited and advance reservations are required. Attendance at Seaplane Day is not required to participate in the May 11th Seaplane Design Challenge event. Register online today through the Invention X enrollment portal. There is no charge to register, and promotion codes are no longer required. Participants may be students Grades 5 and up.
We’ll see you soon for an exciting amphibious adventure!
