Helicopters
1:30 PM & 3:00 PM
Put your engineering skills to the test in the Aero Workshop! Each session is a special 75-minute mini design challenge designed for children ages 8-12. Each workshop centers on a particular problem in aerospace illustrated by a pair of hands-on experiences. Participants then work in small teams of 3-5 to design, build and test a working invention, then launching it in a culminating competition.

Towers
Investigate the technologies used to construct towers, from the ancient Egyptian engineer Imhotep to modern Air Traffic Control facilities. Design and build a tower able to reach the highest possible altitude!
Helicopters
Experiment with vertical flight! Test paper helicopters in a wind tunnel to explore rotary-wing lift, then create an unpowered helicopter designed for long duration flight.
Program Description
