Drone Fest

Upcoming dates:

No upcoming dates.

Event included with Museum admission.  No charge to Hiller Aviation Museum Members.

Explore the amazing world of remotely operated aircraft with an immersive hands-on workshop!  Join drone pilots from the Hiller Aviation Museum and its partners in a showcase of modern robotic aircraft.  The newest multirotor designs will be demonstrated in the Museum’s Drone Plex flight center, while a multimedia presentation connects these aircraft to the legacy of unmanned aerial vehicles preserved in the Museum’s collection.  Observe a detailed flight instruction demonstration, then take the controls of a simulated or actual drone for a brief foray into the brave new world of autonomous aviation.

Aircraft to be flown or on display will include:

  • DJI Inspire 1 and Mavic Pro
  • 3D Robotics Solo
  • Armatten CF-258
  • Scarab FPV
  • UMX Radian
  • Boeing Condor
  • Stearman-Hammond Y-1

The Drone Fest includes approximately 25 minutes of lecture and flight demonstrations, followed by 25 minutes of open lab time on the Drone Plex flight simulators and limited opportunities for drone flying as time permits.  The event is included with Museum admission, no additional ticket is required.
