Hiller Aviation Museum
Field trip experiences provide explorations in science, technology, math and engineering for Grades Pre-K through 12. Interactive exhibits and hands-on programs make for an engaging adventure in the world of flight.
- Advance reservations are necessary for all in person field trips and virtual distance learning programs. Two weeks’ notice is required for tours and programs. Earlier booking is encouraged to provide the best selection of dates and times.
- The minimum group size is 12 students and two adult chaperones.
- One adult (teacher or chaperone) is required per 8 students.
- Indoor and outdoor spaces are available to eat lunch at the Museum. Bring your own lunch; limited snack and drink items are available for purchase.
- Plentiful free parking for cars and buses is available at the Museum.
2023-2024 Field Trip Fees
All field trips must pay as a group to receive the discounted admission price. Individual admissions must be paid at the general admission rate.
Admission – Weekdays, Mondays through Fridays:
- Student admission is $5.00/child, Monday-Friday.
- One adult is admitted at no charge for every eight students, with additional adults admitted at $10.00/adults.
- Weekday groups must include at least 12 students.
Admission – Weekends, Saturdays and Sundays:
- Weekend field trip admission is $10.00/participant. (No adult fee waiver on weekends)
- Weekend groups must include 12 total participants.
Field Trip Add-Ons (Daily)
- Hands-on Programs require an additional program fee that varies by program topic. Advance reservations are required.
- Guided tours are available for an additional fee ($2/child, minimum 12-students) Tuesday through Saturday 10 AM – 1 PM by reservation only.
2024-2025 Field Trip Fees
All field trips must pay as a group to receive field trip rates. Individual admissions must be paid at the general admission rate.
Weekdays, Mondays through Fridays:
- Weekday admission is included in hands-on program fees.
- Admission only visits (with no hands-on programs selected) are $6.00/child, Monday-Friday.
- One adult is admitted at no charge for every eight students, with additional adults admitted at $12.00/adults.
- Weekday groups must include at least 12 students.
Weekends, Saturdays and Sundays:
- Weekend admission is included in hands-on program fees (minimum 12-participants to run).
- Admission only visits (with no hands-on programs selected) are $12.00/participant for all visitors ages 5 and up. (There are no adult fee waiver on weekends.)
- Weekend groups must include 12 total participants.
Tours
Tours are available Monday through Saturday between 10 AM and 1 PM for an additional fee of $2/child, minimum 12 students. Tours are in addition to program/admission fees.
Payment
- Admission and program fees must be paid upon arrival by cash, credit card, or check (made out to Hiller Aviation Museum). School Purchase Orders are not accepted.
- A valid credit card is required on file to complete a reservation. There is no charge for changes/cancellations to field trips requested at least three days in advance. A $30 cancellation fee will be charged for any field trips cancelled fewer than three days in advance or for no-shows. Schools must bring a form of payment on the day of the field trip–admissions does not have access to the card on file to charge field trip fees.
Fee Waiver for Qualifying Schools
- Qualified public schools may apply for admission waivers and/or transportation assistance for any field trip. See sidebar at right for details.
Virtual Field Trips

Mondays at the Museum
- Any K-12 public, private, or charter school group may visit the Museum at no charge for student admissions on select Mondays, September through May.
- Not valid for preschools, homeschools, or individual/families.
- All regular field trip policies apply. Only in-person field trips are included in Mondays at the Museum.
- One adult is admitted at no charge for every eight students, with additional adults admitted at $12.00/adult.
- Optional hands-on programs may be scheduled at regular field trip prices.

Fee Waiver for Eligible Schools
- Schools visiting with a fee waiver may attend on any weekday with availability, excluding holidays.

- Public K-12 schools with an Identified Student Percentage of at least 30% of students qualified to receive free or reduced price meals under federal guidelines may be considered for fee waivers and/or transportation reimbursement. Check School Eligibility Online Here.
- Not valid for private schools, preschools, homeschools, informal education, camps, afterschool programs, or individual/families.
- Fee waivers provide complimentary admission and one basic hands-on program for up to 120 students and a transportation reimbursement.
- All other additional programs and tours are subject to regular field trip rates.
- One adult per eight children will be admitted free (this includes all teachers/staff/parents, etc). All additional adults are admitted at the field trip rate of $12 per person
- Transportation reimbursement awards provide for up to $750 per school to help reimburse bus transportation expenses incurred in a visit to the Hiller Aviation Museum. Reimbursements will be made directly to the school or school district after the field trip.
- Grant fee waiver applications are included within the field trip request form. Grant award status will be confirmed at the time of booking.
Loved the hands on learning. Even loved how students know becoming a pilot is a career choice for them.
I bring my students here each year. It is a favorite trip! I learn something new each visit. The docents are so friendly and knowledgeable! The workshops are perfect for the age of the students!
How to Schedule Your School Program
1. Determine at least two possible dates for your field trip program.
2. Request your field trip online using the In-Person Field Trip Request form.
- For virtual field trips, please use the Virtual Field Trip Request Form.
3. A credit card on file is required to confirm all reservations, but payment is not due until the day of the program.
Fee Waivers for Eligible Schools: Public K-12 schools with an Identified Student Percentage of at least 30% of students qualified to receive free or reduced price meals under federal guidelines may complete an online request for fee waivers and/or transportation reimbursement. Fee Waivers for All: Any public or private K-12 school group visiting on an advanced reservation with 12 or more students may visit the Hiller Aviation Museum at no adm ission charge at select times during the year under one of the following programs:
- Mondays at the Museum - complimentary student admission to K-12 school groups visiting on an advanced reservation during non-holiday Mondays, September through May. Fees for optional hands-on programs, guided tours, and adult admissions apply.
- Aero Design Challenge - an intensive hands-on engineering experience provided at no student charge. Open to groups of 30+ students, Grades 4-8, November through April. Adult admissions fees apply.
Reservations must be booked in advance of consideration of any and all school program assistance requests. Waivers automatically apply to all qualified schools.
