Hiller Aviation Museum
A DAY IN AVIATION CAMP
Daily Camp Schedule
**Schedule subject to change based on weather, events, etc. Start and end time will always be the same but timing of rotations may changed if needed.
Activity Locations
Camp activities take place within classrooms, simulator labs, exhibit spaces, and outside areas at and around the Hiller Aviation Museum. Please ensure that children are ready for both indoor and outdoor activities each day.
Grouping by Age
Within each camp topic, Campers will be divided by age into teams of up to 24 children each working with two adult staff members. Hands-on projects and flight simulation scenarios may vary by grade level. Please indicate any grouping requests on the registration form. Students remain with their same teammates and instructional staff for the entirety of the session.
Please note that, while we always strive to group campers by age, school year camps tend to see more mixed age groupings. We divide all enrolled K-5 enrolled students by age evenly across the number of groups we have based on enrollment and staffing. Typically, school year camps have between one and two groups. School year sessions tend to skew towards majority lower elementary enrollment.
Instruction
Each Aviation Camp team is supervised by two adult staff members per group. Aviation Camp staff complete pre-camp training sessions, LiveScan fingerprint checks, and California mandatory reporter training. Additional museum staff members and volunteers work with campers as necessary to ensure an exceptional camp experience.
Food
All campers should bring a lunch and snacks for morning and afternoon breaks. Snack and lunch breaks are supervised time, with opportunities for outdoor play and a variety of short, structured activities provided during break periods.
