A Bigger Space for Bigger Dreams
Expand the Inspiration
Since 1998, the Hiller Aviation Museum has inspired thousands of young minds to explore a future in aviation, aerospace, and STEM – science technology, engineering and mathematics. Now, the Hiller Aviation Museum stands ready to take that inspiration to the next level with the help of its community of supporters.
The Hiller Aviation Museum Learning Center
Making Room for
More Inspiration
We’re building the future of inspiration – literally. Our expansion plan includes a 3,000 square foot build-out on the second floor, featuring:
- Six camp-sized classrooms designed for hands-on learning
- Three conference room-sized spaces for workshops, training and special events
- A dramatic balcony walkway linking the Gallery and Learning Center
- New, expanded and upgraded restroom facilities
- Additional storage to better support programming and exhibits
This expansion directly addresses capacity challenges, allowing us to welcome an additional 15,000 visitors per year. More schools on field trips, more Aviation Camp teams, more birthday parties and special events, and more opportunities to ignite a lifelong passion for flight.

Our Flight Plan
for Expansion
We’re launching a capital campaign to raise $2.1 million over the next 18 months, with construction targeted to begin in Fall 2026. Our plan includes:
- Complete listening campaign with museum stakeholders
- Conduct fundraising campaign engaging current donors, community groups, businesses, museum members and other stakeholders
- Relocate library and other office spaces to facilitate construction
- Begin construction of office/classroom space Fall 2026
- Continue construction of atrium/walkway Winter 2027
- Partially reopen office/atrium Summer 2027
- Learning Center fully opened Fall 2027
The Hiller Aviation Museum will remain open to the public throughout the project, with targeted areas closed during construction periods. With your help, we’ll break ground on a space designed to inspire – and keep inspiring – for decades to come.
Demand That
Outpaces Our Space
Over the past two decades an emphasis on education and an unfailing commitment to the community has made the Hiller Aviation Museum a stable, successful and mission-driven organization. Our STEM and youth-based programs are thriving – and the demand is higher than ever.
- Aviation Camp fills up months in advance
- School programs and private events exceed current space availability
- Families, educators, and aviation enthusiasts return year after year
This expansion will allow us to meet the growing demand, ensuring more people can experience the wonder of hands-on aviation experiences.
Help Us Build the Runway
for the Next Generation
Your donation to the Expand the Inspiration campaign will create new spaces for families – spaces where curiosity becomes ambition, and ambition takes flight.
It’s happened countless times:
- Aviation Camp attendees pilot F-35 fighters
- Flight Teen volunteers fly commercial airlines
- Education Department staff members became aerospace engineers
- Young visitors grow into aviation’s innovators of tomorrow
Once a young person is inspired to dream big, there’s no limit to what they can achieve.
Make your donation today and help us give thousands more children the space – and the spark – to explore their dreams.
