Jobs
Gallery Interpreter – Weekend Part Time
Overview
Join us to work with families and aircraft at the Hiller Aviation Museum!
Gallery Interpreters staff interactive exhibits at the Hiller Aviation Museum, including the hands-on Invention Lab, Drone Plex flight center, and Flight Sim Zone simulation lab. Responsibilities include daily set-up and securing of lab spaces, preparation of hands-on activities, and working directly with the public to lead interactive activities in aviation-themed topics.
Gallery Interpreters must be available to work weekend shifts 10 AM – 4:30 PM most Saturdays and Sundays. Occasional weekday shifts may also be available but weekday availability is not required. Gallery Interpreter positions pay $15.50-$16.50/hr, depending on experience.
Requirements
Gallery Interpreters must have experience working with elementary or middle-school children. Previous museum experience is preferred but not required. Familiarity with science and/or aviation is a plus but not essential—candidates comfortable with elementary-aged students can readily learn the aerospace-specific content.
How to Apply
To apply, submit a resume and cover letter in PDF format to Linh Fanger, Director of Education, at education@hiller.org. Include “Gallery Interpreter” in the subject line. Finalists for instructor positions will be required to present a demonstration lesson at the Museum as part of their application process.
