Prepare for a special mission in flight to discover the forces that make aviation possible. Build model airplanes, gliders, helicopters and more, and experiment with the flight of each to investigate the science that makes it fly. Use the Museum’s flight simulators to experience flights at night, at extreme altitudes and in challenging weather to see how pilots adapt to changes in the aerial environment.
Experiment with air pressure and temperature to discover to role of weather in aviation. Explore flight in all its many forms with high-flying kites, flying discs, and even real birds on the wing. Investigate the power of the electron with electric circuits and construct a working solar powered vehicle.
